Chief Executive Officer

The REALTOR® Association of Southeastern Massachusetts (“RASEM”) is seeking an accessible, collaborative, and relationship-oriented Chief Executive Officer who will also serve as the Association’s Governmental Affairs Director. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven leader who enjoys bringing people together, strengthening partnerships, and making a meaningful difference in the community. The CEO/GAD will lead RASEM’s staff, operations, and member services while working closely with volunteers and stakeholders to advance the Association’s mission and support a strong, ethical, and successful real estate profession throughout Southeastern Massachusetts.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, relationship builder, staff leader, and advocate who can confidently represent RASEM with REALTORS®, volunteers, public officials, community leaders, industry partners, and other stakeholders. In addition to overseeing the Association’s programs, professional development, communications, resources, and member engagement, the CEO/GAD will serve as a credible and effective voice on housing, property rights, and real estate-related issues before local and state government. 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The CEO serves as the chief executive and administrative officer of RASEM and provides overall leadership and management in partnership with the Board of Directors and volunteer leadership. The CEO is responsible for translating the Association’s mission and Board-approved priorities into effective programs, services, operations, and member experiences.

A significant responsibility of the CEO is serving as RASEM’s Governmental Affairs Director.  The CEO works closely with the Board, President, volunteer leaders, committees, members, and external partners to advance Board-approved public policy priorities; build constructive relationships with elected and appointed officials; and represent the Association effectively on issues affecting REALTORS® and the real estate industry.

The CEO will be a visible, accessible, and trusted leader of the RASEM staff. The successful candidate will establish clear expectations, provide direction and constructive feedback, support professional development, foster teamwork, and create an environment of trust, accountability, and open communication. The CEO will work collaboratively with staff, members, volunteers, and the Board to strengthen organizational relationships and deliver high-quality member service.

The CEO also serves as a trusted advisor to the Board and a visible representative of RASEM with members, industry partners, community leaders, governmental organizations, and other stakeholders. The CEO is responsible for implementing Board policies and priorities, developing and supporting staff, overseeing financial and organizational resources, strengthening member value, communicating clearly and consistently, and ensuring that the Association operates with integrity, accountability, professionalism, and sound judgment.

The next CEO will be expected to build on RASEM’s strong foundation through effective communication, staff and team development, member and volunteer partnership, advocacy engagement, relationship building, and operational excellence, while embracing change and preserving the Association’s core values and mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 4 years executive leadership experience, preferably within a trade association, nonprofit, or similarly complex member-based organization.

  • Demonstrated success working with boards and volunteer governance structures.

  • Experience with governmental affairs, legislative advocacy, public policy, government relations, or working with elected and appointed officials and other governmental stakeholders is strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or RCE or CAE designation desirable.

  • Resides close enough to be on site/in person at the RASEM office in Taunton, Massachusetts to carry out the duties of the organization.  Relocation assistance is available.  

COMPENSATION

RASEM offers a salary range of $110,000 - $125,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
