Maryland REALTORS®, the statewide voice of the real estate industry representing approximately 25,000 professionals across Maryland, seeks a visionary, collaborative, and strategically minded Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization into its next chapter of influence and growth.

The Opportunity
The CEO serves as the chief executive and administrative officer of Maryland REALTORS®, working in close partnership with the elected President, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors. Together with volunteer leadership, the CEO advances a bold strategic agenda that strengthens the real estate industry, protects private property rights, and delivers exceptional value to members.
The next CEO will inherit a respected, mission-driven organization and will be expected to build upon its strong foundation by fostering collaboration, innovation, operational excellence, and inclusive leadership.
The Role
The CEO will:
Partner closely with volunteer leadership to shape and execute the Association’s strategic vision and long-term priorities.
Serve as chief advocate and lobbyist, leading legislative and regulatory strategy before Maryland’s elected and appointed officials.
Build strong, trusted relationships with local REALTOR® associations, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), allied industries, and key external stakeholders.
Lead and inspire a professional staff team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and high performance.
Drive member value through innovative programs, services, and strategic partnerships.
Serve as a visible and credible spokesperson for the organization and the industry.
Provide disciplined financial stewardship, including oversight of budgeting, investments, and operational performance.
Ensure operational alignment with the organization’s Strategic Plan and Board-directed policies.

Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years senior executive leadership experience, preferably within a trade association, nonprofit, or similarly complex member-based organization.
Demonstrated success working with boards and volunteer governance structures.
Proven experience in legislative advocacy, public policy, or government relations strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or RCE or CAE designation desirable.
Resides close enough to be on site/in person at the Maryland REALTORS® office in Annapolis, Maryland to carry out the duties of the organization. Relocation assistance is available.
Compensation
Base Salary of $300,000 - $325,000. Maryland REALTORS® additionally offers a robust benefits package, including health insurance and a variety of other benefits.
